So, this picture may not be exciting to some or a crazy travel adventure picture, but it really means a lot to me. I have been traveling on and off for the last 6 years. More on than off, if I really sat down and calculated it. 2015 was a stuck in limbo type year for me and I was to the point in my life where I had no idea what to do, but really needed to make a change career wise. It was also a great year in ways. I got engaged to my now fiancé who understands and supports my travels, and I was lucky enough to go back to Australia twice and visit friends and family.
I was working jobs here and there as a Beauty Therapist just to save enough money for my next trip. I still do that because right now it pays for me to be able to take off on these extended trips for months at a time. I felt like it was getting so monotonous. Eat, work, sleep, save, travel. The travel part is always amazing and makes the same old routine worth every minute, but wasn’t there something else out there for me? Doesn’t the universe have some other plan?
I would go home to my fiancé and ask him “What else can I do?” Like he had some sort of magical answer for me. I would walk around thinking over and over again, I really don’t know what else I could do. Im only qualified in the field of beauty, I am a damn good Beauty Therapist, it gives the the flexibility to travel and I am only good at one other thing, and thats travel.
Finally some sort of sign came! I forget what exactly that sign was but hey, it was a sign! I’m good at travelling, why not start a blog? I can share my experiences, tips, destinations and anything else travel related. I started researching how to start a blog and it all spiralled from there. This picture was taken the day I sat down and really started it. The sun was shining through my apartment window and I could see the ocean sparkling from the small view I get. There has been lots of tears (friggin technology geez!) and doubts which prompted me to put ‘stop doubting myself’ on my Goals for 2016. I’m still learning the ropes and slowly building my content. I believe that all great things start small. The support from fellow travel bloggers, travellers and everyone in-between that is listening to what I have to say, has been amazing and overwhelming. It is just one of the things, among many others, that has made me keep pushing through and persevere with this travel blog.
Thanks guys!! I look forward to showing you more of what I have to offer in the near future and beyond.
