I do have to give my fiancé credit for this photo, he took it. But, it was totally my idea! I was sitting at the Vancouver Airport view point for watching the planes take off and land. This big beautiful globe has travel quotes on it, and cities and landmarks. I wanted a picture to represent me on top of the world. It felt amazing!
February was a slow month for me, but not boring. I have been busy getting ready for my trip, tweaking my blog, and planning other adventures for the year. I had an amazing visit with a friend I hadn’t seen for 10 years! Isn’t it amazing when you go so long without seeing someone, you catch up with them and it feels like no time has passed. Sometimes living in another country that isn’t my homeland I can feel isolated and miss my friends and family. Catching up with my friend Nicola, made me realise that that no matter where I am in the world, there is always people there for me. An added bonus to that visit was I got to explore Vancouver from a ‘tourist in transit’ point of view. Nicola was only here in Vancouver for one full day, so it was a great opportunity to see what you could possibly do in this beautiful city Vancouver, Canada in 24 hours.
This picture also made me feel empowered. Coming up to my first solo travel adventure, I am feeling a mix of emotions. Me standing here on this big globe makes me realise the world isn’t as scary as it seems. Unknown yes, but scary? Hell no! I will not let fear take over from going out and exploring the world. The world can be your oyster, if you let it.
